Historia del pisco sourLa historia del pisco sour tiene varias teorias. Sin embargo, la mas aceptada es la teoria que atribuye a Victor Morris como el creador de nuestro coctel nacional.
Dicha teoria afirma que Victor Morris realizaba y servia este coctel en su bar llamado Morris Bar, el cual estaba inspirado en el trago Whisky Sour. No obstante, no existe un documento o escrito que contenga la receta original, por lo que se pone en duda que la receta de aquel entonces se parezca a la receta actual.
Por otro lado, existe una segunda teoria que atribuye la creacion del coctel a los trabajadores del bar de Morris, los bartenders Alfonso Bregove, Graciano Cabrera y Alberto Mezarina, todos naturales del Peru.
La tercera teoria afirma que la creacion viene de las manos de Victor Morris, pero que la receta se fue modificando durante 20 anos hasta llegar a la version que se conoce en la actualidad, la cual fue disenada por el bartender Mario Bruijet.
Esta ultima version fue recreada en los principales hoteles de Lima, como: el hotel Maury donde trabajaba Mario Bruijet, y el Bolivar donde trabajaban los bartenders que anos atras trabajasen en el Bar Morris.
Es tanto la importancia y exito del Pisco Sour que, en la actualidad se celebra el Dia del Pisco Sour cada primer sabado de febrero desde que el Instituto Nacional de Cultura lo declarara como Patrimonio Cultural de la Nacion.
