Spicy Sriracha Mayo Recipe - Pups with Chopsticks
Quick and easy, homemade spicy sriracha mayo recipe that can be used on snacks, sandwiches, salads, veggies, and sushi!.
From: pupswithchopsticks.com
Quick and easy, homemade sriracha mayo (spicy mayo) recipe for a creamy, spicy and garlicky sauce that you can use on snacks, sandwiches, salads, veggies, and sushi!
The first time I had sriracha mayo, I was blown away by how creamy and delicious it was and I simply had to re-create it at home so that I can put it on everything.
When I got home and tried to make it, my homemade spicy mayo flavor didn't really have the same flavor and kick that it had outside at restaurants. I thought to myself, how hard could it be? I just needed to mix mayonnaise and sriracha mayo right?
After experimenting with different ratios of sriracha to mayo, I started to notice that the spicy mayo wasn't very spicy so I increased the amount of sriracha but I noticed that it watered down the mayonnaise and made it runny and no longer creamy. To offset that, I decided to add ground cayenne to give it that kick instead, and ta-da! I figured out my missing ingredient was and this has been my version of homemade spicy mayo ever since. This is my go-to recipe for spicy mayo for sushi whenever I make it at home.
Making spicy mayo at home is super easy and literally takes a few minutes to make by just combining 3 ingredients: Kewpie Japanese mayonnaise, Sriracha chili sauce, and ground cayenne pepper! If you like garlicky sauces, I highly recommend grating a clove of fresh garlic into it as well, just make sure you finely grate it in so you don't bite into chunks of garlic.
To make grating the garlic easier, I use a porcelain/ceramic grater. I highly recommend one as a kitchen tool if you use a lot of grated garlic and ginger in your cooking. If you don't have a grater, you can definitely finely chop the garlic with a knife, but make sure the garlic is chopped super fine so you don't bite into large chunks of garlic in your sauce. Alternatively, you can also use a garlic presser or a zester/grater microplane.
Garlic graters don't need to be expensive or fancy and can usually be found at your local kitchen stores. I found mine at a thrift store, but if they are hard to find locally, you can pick them up online as well.
Since sriracha mayo contains mayonnaise and mayonnaise contains eggs, you definitely should refrigerate your spicy mayo if you have leftovers. If you make a big batch of it, use a clean spoon to scoop out what you need from the bowl of spicy mayo each time you want to use it - this is so you don't contaminate the batch with bacteria which will cause mold to form on it. I keep it in the fridge for no more than 2 weeks but this recipe is so easy that I find that I like to make small batches anyway and it never lasts more than 2 weeks.
WHAT DOES SRIRACHA MAYO GO WELL WITH?Here is a list of things I like to use spicy mayo on! It's definitely not limited to just my list and if you have a unique use for it, let me know! I'd love to try it out.
If you're looking for more ideas on what to use spicy mayo on, here are a few recipes I like to use it on!

Meet my new love – Sriracha mayo! I think of Sriracha mayo as an “everything sauce,” because it really perks up chicken, pork, beef, seafood, or potatoes. This spicy, addictive Sriracha mayo recipe takes just five minutes to make with five simple ingredients.
What makes this sauce so addictive is the balance of flavors. The creaminess of the mayo balances out the spicy Sriracha, lemon juice adds a tart freshness, garlic adds a depth of flavor, and a touch of kosher salt makes this sauce irresistible. I always make this spicy sauce to serve with my cast iron steak bites. It’s also a great alternative to shrimp cocktail sauce, or an accompaniment for a simple rotisserie chicken.
If you like deviled eggs, make Sriracha deviled eggs by mashing a little Sriracha mayo with the egg yolks. Another recipe that pairs well with this sauce is pressure cooker crispy potatoes.
Make your Sriracha mayo by whisking together mayonnaise, Sriracha, lemon juice, garlic, and salt. That’s it! For small volume recipes like this one, I like to use a mini whisk.
For Sriracha mayo or any kind of dipping sauce, it’s fun to havestainless steel mini sauce cups so everyone can have their own portion. I’ve also used little glass bowls from the dollar store.
Alternatively, if you want to use this sauce as a topping or dressing, or drizzle it artistically over a fish filet or rice bowl, you can put it in a handy squeeze bottle.
I hope you love this simple Sriracha mayo recipe! Give it a try, and leave a comment below.

Sriracha mayo is my favorite fry dip. The perfect condiment – creamy, spicy, and a touch of sweet, it goes great on sandwiches, steaks, and as a dip for anything! Try it with our prime rib recipe, or over a perfectly baked potato.
Sriracha Mayo Sriracha Mayo Ingredients How Do You Make Sriracha Mayonnaise?First, whisk together sriracha, mayonnaise, garlic salt and honey.
Then, dip into and drizzle on absolutely everything!
How Do You Store Sriracha Mayo?Sriracha mayonnaise should be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Make sure if you use it at a barbecue or party that it doesn’t sit out for more than two hours.
According to the USDA food that sits out longer than two hours enters the “danger zone” and can begin to grow harmful bacteria.
How Long Is Sriracha Mayo Good For?Sriracha mayo is good until the ingredient with the earliest use-by date has passed. Make sure to mark your bottle or container, so you will know exactly how long it is safe to eat. Typically the mayonnaise will have the earliest date.
Tips and TricksMake sure to use a hand whisk or fork to whisk the dip together, and not an electric mixer as you run the risk of breaking the mayo emulsion if you use an electric blender.
Play with the flavors – if you like a lot of spice, try more sriracha, or if you like more sweet, add extra honey!

Sriracha Mayo Recipe | Don't Go Bacon My Heart
Aug 21, 2019 · As such, I recommend starting with a ratio of 1 cup mayo : 2 tbsp Sriracha. Sriracha Mayo couldn’t be easier to make! Here I’ll show you the secret ingredient that takes this homemade dip to new heights.
I can’t remember where I was when I first had sriracha mayo, but it was love at first bite. So smooth and creamy, yet nice and tangy. Ugh. So good. Making your own truly couldn’t be easier. Here’s what you’ll need:
Sriracha Mayo IngredientsYup, a good squeeze of lime juice makes so SO much difference. It just enhances that zingy taste and gives a fresh pop to the dip.
Top Tip – Use full fat mayo and fresh lime juice for a fuller flavour. Using reduced fat mayo or bottled lime juice will alter the flavour considerably.
Spicy MayoWhen it comes to how spicy this dip is, I actually like it on the creamier side of things. As such, I recommend starting with a ratio of 1 cup mayo : 2 tbsp Sriracha. A lot of similar recipes actually recommend a lot more sriracha, but personally I think slightly less allows you to appreciate the dip without having your socks blown off. However, do adjust accordingly.
I recommend using Flying Goose Sriracha Hot Sauce for the best flavour. I’ve tried different brands of sriracha and Flying Goose always seems to come on top. Whatever you do, don’t sub for ‘chilli sauce’ or ‘hot sauce’ or anything similar.
When it comes to serving sriracha mayo, the usual thing would be to opt for a bowl or small pot. But if you’re extra like me, just carve the centre out of a lime and pop it in there 🤣Perfect in a blooming onion!

Healthy Sriracha Mayo Recipe | Wellness Mama
Feb 27, 2016 · Not sure where you guys are from, but in California, the ol Sriracha mayo has been a staple in Japanese restos for a while now. There’s a place in Sacto called Mikuni, and that …This Sriracha Mayo Recipe is one of my husband's favorite condiments and he likes it on everything from chicken to sweet potato fries..
From: wellnessmama.com
On the town square in our little town is a tiny local restaurant with quirky food and an equally interesting atmosphere (and the best seafood bisque in town). My husband often goes to this restaurant for business meetings and he recently discovered his new favorite condiment while eating there: Sriracha mayo.
Sriracha MayoLas week, he came home raving about the amazing sriracha mayo at this restaurant. My immediate response was to cringe on the inside.
Mayo can be a wonderful condiment full of healthy fats from eggs and oils, but most commercial versions use highly processed vegetable oils like canola or soybean and are far from healthy. Thankfully, mayo is a simple condiment to make at home with healthy ingredients and I was able to recreate this spicy mayo relatively easily after a couple of tries.
What is Sriracha?Sriracha is a red chili and garlic sauce that has its roots in Vietnamese and Thai cuisine but that has gained popularity in the US in the last few years. Named after the city where it was originally made, Si Racha, this sauce was brought to the United States in the 1980s but was still relatively obscure until the last few years when it has gained a cult-like following.
You can now find this sauce in many local grocery stores and online, and many restaurants have dishes that feature the flavor of sriracha sauce. If you haven’t tried it, I’d recommend this mayo recipe as a gentle introduction into this sweet and spicy garlic sauce.
Here’s a tutorial on how to make Sriracha from scratch (it’s super easy!).
Homemade MayoI whipped up a simple homemade mayo as the base for this recipe, but you could also use a pre-made mayo if you can find a high quality one (I’ve used this Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayo to use in recipes before). I’ve found that homemade mayo has the best flavor for this recipe, but any mayo will work.
Mayonnaise is also one of the easiest condiments to customize. There are endless ways to add fresh or dried herbs and spices to create different flavor combinations. Though ketchup is the condiment of choice for many kids, I’ve found that mine actually prefer mayonnaise, especially when it is flavored with some of their favorite spice combinations (and this is an easy way to add some healthy and nourishing fats to their meals and avoid sweeteners found in most ketchups).
Some of our favorite mayo variations are:
These flavored variations can spice up a basic chicken salad or tuna salad recipe, and also make great dips for sweet potato fries or sauces for baked fish. My husband recommends them on homemade onion rings.

Spicy, sweet, and fatty–is there really anything else to say about spicy mayo, the hotter cousin of mayonnaise. Maybe it’s the added sriracha helps give heat to burgers and fries, or sushi, but this sauce amps up any dish.
You can find spicy mayo in so many different places these days; from American restaurants selling trendy lobster rolls or spicy, flavorful burgers to sushi restaurants selling spicy tuna rolls or dynamite seafood plates.
Spicy mayo ingredientsWhile you can buy spicy mayo in grocery stores, you can also make this super easy and homemade recipe at home, all you need is two basic ingredients.
You want to start off with a basic four to one ratio of mayonnaise to hot sauce and increase the amount of hot sauce as needed. For additional flavors, you can also use garlic, soy sauce, different types of hot sauce other than chile, limes, smoked salt, and more.
Sriracha & other hot saucesAlthough you can make spicy mayo with any type of hot sauce, the most popular brand is by far Huy Fong Foods’ sriracha. Its cult-like background has made sriracha into a household name and now you can even find larger brands, like Trader Joe’s, creating their own types of “sriracha.”
You are also free to try different types of hot sauces, too, but I really prefer the sweet and spiciness of sriracha.
Japanese mayonnaiseWhile you can use any type of mayonnaise in this recipe, I prefer using Japanese mayonnaise. Kewpie is a brand of Japanese mayonnaise that has a slightly sweeter flavor than American mayonnaise.
The difference in flavor is due to the substitution of apple or rice wine vinegar instead of distilled vinegar in American mayonnaise brands. Japanese Mayonnaise also uses egg yolks instead of whole eggs. This contributes to a richer and creamier mayonnaise than your standard Hellman’s.
While Kewpie is typically used as a dipping sauce for chicken karaage, mixing with eggs for tamago sando, salmon poke bowls, or spicy tuna rolls, I like to add this spicy sriracha mayo to burgers or using it as a dipping sauce for french fries too!
